Snowdrops and Oldhands – Czech Coal Chess Match 2012

Two rounds before the end, only one point less!

[14.12.2012 00:00:00] - In the sixth round of the match Snowdrops vs. Oldhands, the girl´s team with white pieces has the task to stop the increase of Oldhands. But Snowdrops didn´t manage, Oldhands won again, this time with a slight difference and they effaced another one point.

Tania Sachdev is for the present in a great form in Poděbrady. Playing with Fridrik Olafsson in the sixth round, she took a sacrificed pawn and she didn´t allowed, by an exact game, to her adversary to develop expected attack, contrariwise she started the offensive and she forced Fridrik to resign. So Tania has brought 5 points from 6 games already!

Kristýna Havlíková, playing with Vlastimil Hort, obtained the advantage on the beginning, but Hort changed it into the position of rook and different coloured bishops, and he managed to finish by a safety draw. In that moment, Snowdrops looked like winning, but…

Oleg Romanišin with black pieces, playing against Alina Kašlinskaja, obtained the advantage and the bishop after a great strategic operation. Alina searched the rescue in the endgame of different couloured bishops, but Oleg showed how Oldhands play those positions and he pushed his advantage till the winning end. Valentina Gunina gained a big advantage against Wolfgang Uhlmann after beginning, but Wolfgang deffended himself with such an invention, he profited from Valentina´s inexact offensive and he obtained a piece which helped him to win a whole point.

State of the match after the sixth round: Snowdrops - Oldhands 12,5 : 11,5
