First victory of Nakamura, admiration to Hort

[06.06.2014 00:00:00] - First steps of Hikaru Nakamura led to Prague's Kampa to Michna Palace on Friday's afternoon. For the opening day of this year's chess festival ČEZ Chess Trophy, there was on program a simul, in which thirty rivals fought against the World's No. 7. Four-hours-long seance had, as expected, the clear winner, Hikaru Nakamura set up the final score on 28:2. No one managed to beat the American No. 1, the four Libor Kičmer, Jaroslav Sysel, Vojtěch Trochta and Tomáš Habiňák managed to score draw. The ceremonial opening party, which took place in EA Hotel Juliš on Wenceslas's square, was launched by the mayor of Prague 1 Oldřich Lomecký. He prepared a pleasant surprise for GM Vlastimil Hort, whom he awarded for lifelong contribution to chess. Then the program continued with the draw of the pieces for the first game, under the supervision of the Chief Judge Pavel Votruba, executed by ombudsman of ČEZ grou Ing. Josef Sedlák. GM David Navara will start the match with Hikaru Nakamura with white pieces.
