CHESS TRAIN 2016

Czech Railways drafted the turkish grandmaster

[10.10.2016 00:00:00] - After four days travelling around the Germany and Austria, the Chess Train arrived at last to a wonderfull small city of Český Krumlov. Only the last stage of the trip and the 10th round is waiting for the participants of the tournament. The tournament was lead with no doubts by the sympathetic turkish grandmaster Suat Atalik, who obtained 9 points from 9 games, and so his victory became already definitively sure.

But we can expect a rough fight for another medal positions. German translator Sven Roemling with his 7,5 points occupies actually the 2 place and Thomas Broek with Ukrainian master Roman Khaetsky, both with 7 points, share the 3rd position for the moment. They are followed by a group of 5 players with 6,5 points (Brent Burg, Oleg Maximov, Clive Wismayer, Thomas Broek and Thomas Karius) and everybody among them can end up with a bronze medal.

Among Czech players, Jaroslav Satranský is still the best, his 6 points provide him the 10th position for now. Jiří Sekanina (18th position) obtained the same number of points.

The team competition is led by the team of České dráhy (Czech Railways), who has managed to draft the turkish grandmaster Suat Atalik, whose points will apparently decide about the winner of this competition. Second team is called the club Mariannes Merry Mob and the third one is Papamubusa.

Turkish grandmaster Suat Atalik celebrating today his 52nd anniversary in the train. Congratulations!
