ČERNOBÍLÁ CESTA (BLACK AND WHITE ROUTE)

The most beautiful studies and problems of Mario Matouš, the best Czech chess composer of the 20th century, and bizarre chess stories of Pavel Houser connected by illustrations of Kristina Peřichová into one splendid book. The book was published also in limited numbered edition (100 copies), bound in imitation leather with an embossed diagram, paper cover and sewn ribbon bookmark. On 240 pages you will found 45 studies and problems, 22 stories and 36 illustrations. The book is supplemented by biographies of both of the authors and several yet non-published photos. The book was published by Prague chess society in 2014.

[12.05.2010] - The world's best chess player Judit Polgar won against the best Czech chess player David Navara in the eight-game rapid chess match 6 - 2, securing the winning each day of the tournament. She got in lead on Thursday 22 April 2010 with an advantage 2,5 – 0,5. On Friday 23 April she had already secure for herself the victory of the tournament, winning 2 -1. And on Saturday 24 April she increased her score, winning 1,5 – 0,5, the overall score changed to 6 – 2.

Nevertheless the course of the games was not at all just one way traffic. The Czech grandmaster openings were very well-played... [all]

Judit Polgar has decided the result in the 5-th game already

[24.04.2010] - The best woman chess player in the world has already won over the best Czech chess player during the second day of the match. The trophy made by a sculptor Ludek Vondra will find its new home in Hungary. The only question left is the overall score.

At the 4-th game of the match Judit Polgar had the white pieces. However David Navara quickly and easily manage to equalize the position and towards the endgame he manage to win a pawn. However at the end he exceeded his time. At the 5-th game the Hungarian player played better game and she had decided the destiny of the match. At 6-t... [all]

Prime minister Fischer opens match Navara-Polgar

[23.04.2010] - The prime minister Jan Fischer opened by move e4 a chess match of the best Czech chessplayer David Navara against Judit Polgar. The head of the Czech government also launched the book 'Bobby Fisher Against the Czech Grandmasters', which has been published this week by the Prague Chess Society.

In the first game the Czech player played with white pieces and the Spanish exchange variation ended with a draw. The second game too was of a Spanish influence. [21.04.2010] - The world's most famous and the best woman chess player Judita Polgar arrived together with her husband Gusztáv Font to Prague to play a match with the Czech best chess player David Navara and a simul against 25 players. Despite the complications caused by volcanic ash, which for instance forced the match commentator Lubomir Kavalek to complete the last bit of his journey from Washington to Prague by train, the plane with Judit Polgar took off from Budapest and safely landed in Prague.
