Navara vs. Rapport - ČEZ CHESS TROPHY 2016

PROGRAMME

The chess festival takes place at Michna Palace on the Kampa Island (Prague 1, entry via Všehrdova Street), with the exception of the living chess on Střelecký Island and the movie premiere in the Ponrepo Cinema.
All games will be explained to the audience by GM Robert Cvek in the commentator hall. The tickets (EUR 2.50, can be purchased at the venue or booked via e-mail (prazska.sachova@gmail.com)) are valid throughout the whole day (both for the talk and the match of the grandmasters).

Friday 3 June
15:00 – simul of GM Rapport against 30 opponents (free entry for viewers)

Saturday 4 June
15:00 – living chess on Střelecký Island (the chess pieces will be representing the blindfold game of GMs Navara and Rapport)
16:00 – autograph session of GMs David Navara and Richard Rapport (Střelecký Island)

19:00 – premiere of a Chess Train documentary by the British Estonian director Maris Flabba (Ponrepo Cinema – Prague 1, Bartolomějská 291/11)

Sunday 5 June
10:00 – blindfold simul of GM Timur Gareyev against 15 opponents
15:00 – vernissage of chess photos from pubs and cafés
16:00 – 1st game of the match between GM David Navara and GM Richard Rapport

Monday 6 June
15:00 – talk “Legends of Czech chess – old Czech masters: Opočenský, Flohr, Hromádka” (by GM Vlastimil Hort)
16:00 – 2nd game of the match between GM David Navara and GM Richard Rapport

Tuesday 7 June
15:00 – How to build your opening repertoire - what openings should be played by amateur (by GM Robert Cvek)
16:00 – 3rd game of the match between GM David Navara and GM Richard Rapport

Wednesday 8 June
15:00 In what positions the genius of Bobby Fischer manifested? (by GM Robert Cvek)
16:00 – 4th game of the match between GM David Navara and GM Richard Rapport, potential tie-break in rapid chess and awarding the trophy to the winner
