[16.06.2023] - The winner of the ČEZ CHESS TROPHY 2023 is Alexey Shirov, who won the 8-game rapid chess match against Thai Dai Van Nguyen 5:3. This is the third victory out of three Prague matches for the Wizard of Riga. The ČEZ CHESS TROPHY 2023 festival was also distinguished by a rich accompanying program - an exhibition, a lecture, a new book launch, and a simul.

[25.05.2023] - From 9th to 11th June, the next edition of the ČEZ CHESS TROPHY chess festival will take place in the beautiful Art Nouveau halls of the Municipal House. Its main guest will be Grandmaster Alexey Shirov, who will play an eight-game rapid chess match with the Czech number two, Grandmaster Thai Dai Van Nguyen. [25.05.2023] - Lubomír Kaválek, one of the best Czech chess players in history, would have celebrated his 80th birthday this year. To mark the occasion, the Prague Chess Society is publishing a book of his best games with his own commentaries, Kaválek's Avalanche, and the Argo publishing house is publishing a book of his memoirs, The Played Life. Wizard from Riga comes to Prague

[25.05.2023] - Grandmaster Alexey Shirov will be the main guest of the ČEZ CHESS TROPHY 2023 chess festival from 9 to 11 June in the Grégr Hall of the Municipal House in Prague. He will play an eight-game rapid chess match with the Czech number two, Grandmaster Thai Dai Van Nguyen, as well as a simul against 25 opponents. [14.07.2022] - The Czech representative David Navara defeated the Indian Grandmaster S.L. Narayanan 7: 6 thanks to a win in the final Armageddon, and thus won the ČEZ CHESS TROPHY 2022. Before that, the last time was eleven years ago, when the eleven-time national champion David Navara won the ČEZ CHESS TROPHY festival. A traditional Prague chess festival ČEZ CHESS TROPHY is coming back, and this year it is going to be all about India. Young Indian grandmasters are dominating tournaments all over the world - right now, India has seven players in the top 100, and another eleven are close to joining the ranks! On top of that, India has seven grandmasters between the ages of 15 and 18.

Amongst the many people who participated in this charitable simul of the best Czech chess player David Navara were prime minister Andrej Babiš, a member of the Parliament Patrik Nacher, or former minister of health Roman Prymula. Alongside another seventeen chess players and many others, they financially contributed to Kerala vaccination fund (Kerala is a state in south-west India) and to a south Moravia winery Brázdová that was heavily damaged by a tornado.
