Act two - four draws

[02.12.2013 00:00:00] - When regarding the results of the second round of the match Snowdrops and Oldhands – Vršanská uhelná chess match 2013 in Poděbrady, maybe you could say: „Boring“. But the contrary is truth. All four games were very dramatic and the draws were hardly fought. Wolfgang Uhlmann had a slight advantage over Viktorija Cmilyte, but one incorrectness transferred the advantage to Victorias side. But her advantage of two bishops was not enough to win and the game finished by a draw, just before the control move 40. Even Boris Gulko had an advantage playing against Anastasia Zjazjulkina, but one careless move led him to almost lose the game, after losing one pawn. Finally, he managed to complicate the position around the king and, considering the time distress of Anastasia, the game finished by a draw as well. Playing against Alina Kashlinskaya, Borislav Ivkov was in time distress from the move 15, then he lost two pawns. However, he organised the attack (mainly the move 27.e6!), but unfortunately he could not find the way to win and after several moves a draw seemed logical end. Mariya Muzychuk with black figures obtained the advantage after the beginning of her game against Iossif Dorfman, but he transferred the position into the rook end with the pawn on one wing (even if he had one pawn less). And after a long fight he managed to keep a draw. So after two rounds, Snowdrops are winning 5:3.
